Terms of Service

Last updated: April 4, 2026

Welcome to Kovra. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kovra platform, website, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Kovra ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Kovra is an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that provides:

  • Managed Kubernetes cluster provisioning and management (Kovra Cloud)
  • Bring-Your-Own-Cloud (BYOC) cluster connectivity and management
  • Application deployment via GitOps workflows and Helm-based pipelines
  • Managed databases (PostgreSQL) provisioned within your clusters
  • Monitoring, alerting, and logging powered by VictoriaMetrics and Grafana
  • Git integration with GitHub and GitLab for repository management
  • Preview environments for pull request workflows
  • External access management with automatic TLS certificates
  • Multi-tenant organization and team management

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Organizations and Teams

The Service supports multi-tenant organizations. Organization owners can invite members, assign roles (owner, admin, member, viewer), and manage team access. Organization owners are responsible for the actions of all members within their organization and for managing appropriate access controls.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Kovra offers multiple pricing tiers including Developer, Team, Business, and Enterprise Cloud plans. Usage-based billing applies to compute (vCPU), memory (RAM), storage, and GPU resources consumed through the platform. Subscriptions are managed through our billing partner, Polar.

  • Billing is calculated based on actual resource consumption metered by the platform.
  • You are responsible for all charges incurred under your organization's account.
  • Subscription changes take effect at the beginning of the next billing cycle unless otherwise stated.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Deploy malicious software, cryptominers, or conduct denial-of-service attacks
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, clusters, or data
  • Circumvent or disable any security features of the Service
  • Use the Service for any purpose that competes directly with Kovra
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without our prior written consent

7. Your Content and Data

You retain all ownership rights to the applications, code, configurations, and data you deploy through the Service ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of Your Content. You grant us a limited license to host, store, and process Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service.

When using BYOC clusters, your application workloads run in your own cloud accounts. Kovra manages orchestration metadata but does not store your application data on our infrastructure.

8. Cloud Credentials

If you provide cloud provider credentials (AWS, GCP, Azure) for managed cluster provisioning or BYOC connectivity, these credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption. You are responsible for ensuring that the credentials you provide have appropriate and minimal permissions. We will only use your credentials to provision and manage infrastructure as directed by you through the Service.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to notify you of planned downtime in advance.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination:

  • Your access to the Service will be revoked.
  • Managed clusters and databases provisioned through Kovra Cloud will be scheduled for deletion.
  • BYOC clusters will be disconnected but remain operational in your cloud accounts.
  • We will retain your data for 30 days to allow recovery, after which it will be permanently deleted.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kovra shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities. Our total liability shall not exceed the amounts paid by you to Kovra in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or that defects will be corrected.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
